The partnership between Volvo and Polestar Performance has been a good one over the years. In fact, the two have a nice little surprise for us! The success of the partnership has been clear in the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC), but what about cars on the streets?
Volvo is proud to announce the introduction of the C30 Polestar Performance Concept Prototype. Sure, that’s a mouthful, so let’s put it this way: racing engineers and designers are building a top of the line street car. Simple enough.
“With the Volvo C30 Polestar Concept Prototype, Polestar aimed to build further on the strong driving characteristics of the standard C30 and at the same time illustrate the link between the racing cars and the Polestar Performance products.”
Under the hood find a 2.5L T5 engine with larger intercooler and a KKK 26 turbocharger. The standard Volvo C30 comes with 227 hp. Not bad, but the C30 Polestar ups horsepower to 405 with 510 Nm of torque. Now that’s what we’re talking about!
More features of the C30 Polestar include enhanced aerodynamics originating from the STCC race car, a Haldex AWD system, Öhlins shock absorbers and springs, Brembo brakes, and 19-inch BBS wheels coming with Pirelli P Zero tires.
Overall, the C30 Polestar is set to turn some heads. Check out the video below. I know, I know, it’s not in English, but the pictures are totally worth it!
Look for the car to premier tomorrow at the Gothenburg Motor Show.
