The new CEO of Volvo, Stefan Jaoby, will be the keynote speaker for the 2010 LA Auto Show next month. His speech is expected to include insights regarding U.S. and Chinese auto markets, and viable alternative fuel solutions.

Until recently, Jaoby was the head of Volkswagen’s U.S. operations. He took the helm of Volvo following its sale to Chinese automaker Zhejiang Geely. While Jaoby has been interviewed and profiled extensively during his tenure with VW, he made few public appearances. This will be one of his first interactions with the public since coming to Volvo.

“Right now Mr. Jacoby is in one of the most fascinating car industry positions, as a German CEO of an esteemed Swedish brand now owned by the Chinese,” said Charlie Vogelheim, Motor Press Guild speaker committee chairman and executive editor of IntelliChoice. “He is expected to share his vision of the U.S. and Chinese auto markets, and viable alternative fuel solutions during his LA Auto Show keynote.”

The 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show will be held in the fall for the fifth consecutive time. Press Days are Nov. 17 and 18 and Nov. 19-28 for the public.
